NP's Lame Birthday Hash- California Restaurant & Tavern
The full moon run last Thursday was a birthday run extravaganza! as both hares Natty Porn and Pussyfoot share the same birthday (and H2O, too, and New Shoez two days later. Very curious – especially since they all look alike.) Our two visitors were Lubric*nt, from Edmonton by way of Oakville, and Gatecrasher from Oxford.
Our venue was the California Pub at the corner of Pape and Mortimer. As usual, Natty was wringing her hands about the particulars of the trail, but it was straightforward enough. She said she’d set trail two days earlier, and in Greektown you’d expect grandma to be out with the hose within minutes of chalk hitting pavement. So it was lucky for us that a surprising amount of the marks remained. It went west a bit and then due south to the Danforth, where it tucked into a primary school playground where Natty was waiting with the shooter check. Natty was very proud of the lime zest she’d put in her jungle juice.
After that we veered slightly into Withrow Park and then went a bit further east, crossing Pape and hitting the end of a dead end street. But there was a pathway running north, so we followed that as the trail led us over to Jones and then to the Danforth. That’s where the beer check was, though Dead End, Humpday and Lubric*nt were prepared to run past it. Admittedly, there was no BC marking in front of the pub until Natty marked it, but they really should know better.
