Hogtown Hash #1136
Hare: HumpDay
New Year's Eve Hogtown/Twat/Fullmoon Hash
New Year’s Eve was a TWAT day, and it was also a full moon, so Hogtown got to share in the honours. Both of the hares were personified in the lovely form of Humpday. It seemed as good a night as any to have a double-ender hash – it’s not as if there was anything else going on.
We met at the Duke of Gloucester on Yonge Street. Nadia Cumaneatme made one of her occasional appearances. Casket Case and Fish Fingers arrived in the nick of time, having just flown in from New York (and boy were their arms tired. It was unseasonably warm, so a few knuckleheads decided to wear shorts, including our two young visitors from Washington, D.C. They said they just wanted to take a trip somewhere, but I think they were up here to spy on us. Either that or they were going to get married.
Our trail took us up to Yonge and Bloor, and then through Yorkville. We cut back down to Bloor, then down Bay. I remember being in the alleys behind Yonge, and on Yonge, and then everything went blank – so things were normal for me.
The beer check was in the odd little parkette/waterfall/concrete thingy on Richmond across from the Bay. Zephyr and Wet and Dirty were there lording it over tall boys of quality beer. It was a mild, misty night, and the lights of the downtown towers shimmered softly like sparkling clouds of beer foam in a capacious tankard filled to the brim with nutty ale, overflowing with a lip-tickling head… who said…?
And mercy of mercies, Hump Day had subway tokens for all of us, so we got to ride back to the on on in style!
